Below, we’ve outlined the dental benefits available for children and adults, depending on age and eligibility status. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, our team is happy to help.

Children 12 and Under

Children aged 12 and under with MCP coverage are eligible for the following services:

  • Dental exam: Every 6 months
  • Fluoride treatment: Once every 12 months, starting at age 6
  • X-rays: 2 bitewing x-rays every 2 years, plus other required x-rays
  • Routine dental work: Includes fillings, extractions, and sealants

These preventive and routine treatments help ensure your child maintains a healthy smile from an early age.

Children 13–17 (Income Support)

For children between 13 and 17 whose families are receiving income support, MCP provides limited dental coverage:

  • Dental exam: Once every 24 months
  • X-rays: 2 bitewing x-rays every 2 years, plus other required x-rays
  • Routine dental work: Fillings and extractions

Note: Cleanings are not covered for this age group.

Adults on Income Support

Adults receiving income support may qualify for limited dental benefits through MCP. If you are eligible, MCP may cover:

  • Routine fillings and extractions (impacted teeth not included)
  • Dental exam: Once every 3 years
  • Bitewing x-rays: Once every 3 years
  • Annual maximum: $300 per calendar year (April 1 – March 31)

The cost of exams and X-rays is deducted from your yearly maximum. Cleanings are not included under this plan.
