Claire Jamieson

Originally from St. John's Newfoundland, Claire has recently returned to the Island where she enjoys spending time with her family and friends while working as an associate with the Avalon Dental team. Having first found her passion for dentistry as a child undergoing orthodontic treatment Claire's interest was further piqued when working with the partners at the Avalon Mall practice with whom she had worked as an undergrad student.

Following her dream to pursue dentistry as a career, Claire first earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Memorial University. She was then accepted into the Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry in 2006 and graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May 2010. She won several awards during her dentistry education including the Dr. F. A. Godsoe Prize for proficiency in Cariology; the Dr. D. E. Williams Prize for proficiency in clinical pediatric dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Senior Student Award for outstanding academic achievements in dentistry. During her time at Dalhousie, Claire also volunteered her time as a CDA student representative and worked as a student research assistant at the IWK Children's Hospital Department of Pediatric dentistry.

Claire currently resides in Mount Pearl with her husband Michael and Basset hound Tetley. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, baking, hiking, camping and has recently rekindled a love for running and fitness.
